About John Paul Keith & the Rhythm of the City

A Knoxville native and a veteran of the Memphis music scene, singer/songwriter/guitarist John Paul Keith has four critically acclaimed solo albums and a well-earned reputation as one of the city's best roots-rock performers.

Whether it's Memphis rockabilly, New Orleans boogie, instrumental soul, Bakersfield honky-tonk, or bluesy Delta guitar, John Paul Keith respects the music's history and layers his modern sensibilities atop the flawless foundation.

In addition to his eponymous band, John Paul performs with Amy LaVere and Will Sexton in the popular retro-country act Motel Mirrors. He also recently created a new band, the Rhythm of the City, to provide a soul-oriented, horn-driven sound, as well as to perform with Italian entertainer Niko Congiu, Sun Studio legends and TCB Band tributes, and other Elvis stylists.

One of the city's great pop songwriters, John Paul Keith has released several albums on the Fat Possum label and contributes to numerous projects by other artists.

Smart, witty, steeped in Memphis music history, and enormously talented: John Paul Keith brings an authentic, roots-oriented good time to any venue. Contact us to see how John Paul Keith can play for your event.
