Forest Fire Gospel Choir is reinvigorating rock 'n roll by injecting their old souls into a new sound that combines gritty vocals with modern grooves. Five great musicians — lead vocalist and bassist Will McGee from Memphis, guitarist Nick Fields from Rochester, keyboardist Will Lynde from Houston, guitarist Sam Hunt from Los Angeles, and drummer Daniel Closser from Boulder — met and joined forces in Nashville, and the result is magical.
There's an undeniable ambition and cohesion to their music. McGee's bass and vocals pair perfectly with Hunt's and Fields' guitar riffs, accentuated by Lynde's keyboard fills. Closser's drumming brings an edge that inspires the band members to explore their sonic boundaries while staying true to their roots.
