About Dikki Du & the Zydeco Krewe
Troy ("Dikki Du") Carrier was born to lead a zydeco band. After all, he is Louisiana music royalty: the son of Roy Carrier, the brother of Chubby Carrier, and a proud ambassador of Louisiana's zydeco heritage.
Troy cut his teeth playing washboard with the great C.J. Chenier around the world, then he learned to play accordion and started a band.
Dikki Du and the Zydeco Krewe takes classic zydeco tunes and turns them inside out with new, funky renditions. They play traditional Louisiana music and zydeco-flavored versions of party songs like "Mustang Sally" and "Uptown Funk." The band's innovations have revitalized zydeco and will keep it fresh for years to come.
Dikki Du and the Zydeco Krewe is a great band: passionate about their history, familiar with the contemporary scene, and overflowing with Louisiana charm. They're a great band for festivals and fun, casual private events.
