Sun Studio hits, rockabilly classics, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison, Sam the Sham, Carl Perkins, Billy Lee Riley — if it's early Memphis rock 'n roll, this band plays it! Plus R&B, soul, and everything Elvis — from the Sun and RCA hits to the songs you love from all the Elvis movies.
About Brad Birkedahl
Renowned for his wicked guitar shredding and his encyclopedic knowledge of rockabilly, roots rock, and all things Elvis, Brad Birkedahl is a favorite of both tourists and locals on Beale Street and at Graceland.
A native of Tacoma, WA, Brad has become beloved in his adopted home of Memphis. The former guitarist and vocalist with world-famous rockabilly trio The Dempseys, Brad now fronts his own band of Memphis music pros, often including his wife Anna Marie, who sings lead and background vocals.
When he isn't playing on historic Beale Street, Brad performs around the world. He's shared the stage with legends such as Carl Perkins, Wanda Jackson, James Burton, Billy Lee Riley, The Stray Cats, Paul Burlison, Malcolm Yelvington, Jason D. Williams, and DJ Fontana — just to name a few. He performed for President George W. Bush and the Prime Minister of Japan, and he played the role of Scotty Moore in Walk the Line, the movie about Johnny Cash.
Brad and his band know pretty much every Elvis song ever recorded (go ahead — try to stump them with a request from Change of Habit) and is a trove of historic and musical information about Memphis music from the 1950's and 60's. With musician Brandon Cunning, he squires tourists around the region in magnificently restored cars with their funky business Rockabilly Rides.
Talented, professional, and charming, Brad Birkedahl can make the musical legacy of Memphis come alive for your event. For more information on booking Brad Birkedahl, please contact us.
